Branding you can take off
Magnetic signs are the answer when the vehicle is not only for work: a personal car used for a side business, a leased vehicle you cannot put adhesive on, a spouse's car pressed into service on Saturdays, or a fleet where the signage needs to move between trucks. Full colour printed, laminated, and cut to size on thick flexible magnetic sheet. On in the morning, off in the evening, and no trace on the paint.
Sizes
The common door magnet is 24 × 12 inches or 18 × 12 inches, which suits most car and pickup doors. Vans and box trucks take larger panels — 24 × 18 and up. Keep the layout simple: business name, what you do, and a phone number, sized to be read from the next lane rather than from the sidewalk. A magnet crammed with services reads as a blur at forty kilometres an hour.
Where magnets work, and where they do not
A magnet needs a flat steel panel to grip. Aluminum body panels, fibreglass, plastic bumpers and most modern composite doors will not hold one at all, and a door with a strong curve or a deep body crease only makes contact in places — which is how magnets end up on the highway. Check with a fridge magnet before ordering, and if the vehicle will not take one, cut vinyl lettering is the answer instead. We will tell you honestly if we think your vehicle is a bad candidate.
Looking after them
This is the part that decides whether magnets last a season or years. Take them off at least weekly and clean both the magnet and the paint underneath — grit trapped between the two abrades the finish, and water sitting under a magnet for months is what causes the paint blemishes magnets get blamed for. Dry both surfaces before putting the magnet back. Keep them off in an automatic car wash and off the vehicle at highway speed if the fit is marginal. Store them flat or rolled printed-side out, never folded — a crease in the magnetic sheet is permanent and stops it sitting flush.
How long they last
A laminated printed magnet treated as above generally gives a few years of daily use before the print starts to look tired. They are a consumable compared with vinyl lettering, which is the trade-off for being removable — and they are cheap enough to replace when the phone number changes, which is the other reason people like them.

How do I get a quote?
Email info@signs613.com or send the request form on this site — both land in the same inbox. Tell us the size, the quantity and where it is going, and attach your artwork or a photo. A real person replies with a clear price and turnaround. We do not publish a phone number; if you would rather be called, leave your number in the form and say so.
Do you ship across Canada?
Yes — standard shipping is free anywhere in Canada. Expedited shipping is available on request; tell us your deadline and we will quote it alongside the free option.
Will I see a proof first?
Always. Every job gets a proof by email showing size, colour, spelling and layout, and nothing is cut or printed until you approve it.
How long does it take?
Most decal, sticker and lettering jobs are made within about five business days of proof approval, plus shipping. Larger signs and installations are scheduled with you. In a hurry? Say so and we will tell you honestly what is possible.
What file format should I send?
Vector artwork (SVG, PDF, AI or EPS) stays sharp at any size. A high-resolution PNG or JPG also works — at least 150 DPI at the finished size. We check it at the size you need and tell you before printing if it will not hold up.
Will magnets stick to my vehicle?
They need a flat steel panel. Most car and truck doors are fine; aluminum panels and plastic bumpers will not hold a magnet. Not sure? Try a fridge magnet on the door.
Will a decal damage my paint or my window tint?
Applied and removed properly, no. Vinyl sits on the clear coat, not in it, and comes off with gentle heat from a hair dryer, lifted at a shallow angle — never a blade, and never a heat gun held in one spot. Factory tint is inside the glass and is not affected. Aftermarket tint film is the exception: it is a film on the inside of the window, so put the decal on the OUTSIDE of a tinted window and it is a non-issue. Paint that is already cracked, flaking or freshly resprayed is the real risk — let new paint cure for at least a month first.
Can you ship cut vinyl decals to my province?
Yes — every province and territory, with free standard shipping. Cut vinyl travels better than almost anything else a sign shop makes: it ships flat or rolled, pre-masked with transfer tape, so it arrives ready to apply and there is no surcharge for distance. The same decal costs a customer in British Columbia what it costs one in Ontario. Expedited shipping is quoted on request — tell us your deadline when you ask. Only installation stays local, across the Belleville, Kingston and Napanee area.
What if something is wrong when it arrives?
Custom work cannot be returned for a change of mind, because it is made specifically for you — but if it arrives faulty, damaged or not as proofed, contact us within 14 days with a photo and we will remake or refund it.
